Take One Picture

Each year the Gallery focuses on one painting from the collection to inspire cross-curricular work in primary classrooms. We used the painting - 'An Experiment on a Bird in the Air Pump' by Joseph Wright 'of Derby’ to inspire us. The challenge was then for us to use the image imaginatively in the classroom, both as a stimulus for artwork, and for work in more unexpected curriculum areas.
