World Down Syndrome Day Celebrated
World Down Syndrome Day was celebrated on Monday as #supportiveStrandites helped to spread the word by wearing mismatched socks. The reason we wear mismatched socks is because chromosomes look like socks, and people who have Down’s syndrome have an extra copy of chromosome 21. We all learned Makaton signs to 'A Better Place' and the whole school performed together at Monday's assembly - it's set to be a firm favourite from now on!
