World Book Day
The playgrounds and classrooms were alive yet again yesterday with our favourite characters from the
world of children’s literature to mark another brilliant World Book Day. From Legolas to Captain Hook,
and from Dorothy to Harry Potter, our annual parade had it all, and the outfits once again showed off
the impressive breadth of reading interest at Strand. Asked to ‘Read Your Way’ this year, many at
Strand also took the chance to dress up in their pyjamas and pockets of ‘cosy reading’ could be found
across the school throughout the day. All had the chance to visit the Reading Cafe, where year groups
mixed to share titles and recommendations while pouring over their favourite reads with a biscuit or two!
A big thank you and well done to the Reading Ambassadors who planned and set up the Reading Cafe
this year.
