Strandites to Compete in London Marathon

Before half term some of Strand's top runners took part in Hounslow trials at Lampton School for the youth section of the London Marathon. Aidan, Flo R and Joe competed in the under 13 category where the top 7 competitors would be put forward to the Marathon. Against tough competition, and a field of over 40 runners, Aidan and Flo qualified finishing 7th and 6th respectively and Joe narrowly missed qualification finishing 13th. All our runners completed the course in very credible times of around 20 min – very impressive for a 5K run. This is quite an achievement for Flo and Aidan and just recognition of their athletic prowess. Look out for them running the final 5K of the London Marathon on 13th April. Well done to all three athletes.
