Strandites Meet Michael Rosen
Yesterday a group of our keenest readers were lucky enough to be invited to the Treaty Centre to listen to Michael Rosen speak! The morning was fantastic and Michael Rosen performed some of his favourite poems and had his audience roaring with laughter. He told stories about his childhood and explained to the
children how he wrote some of his best poems just from a first line. As Chloe (6B) said "What a great trip – The best part was where he told lots of stories about his childhood – it made us laugh". The children were inspired and immediately came back to school and began searching the library for books by Michael and Googling his performances. The children were a credit to Strand and really appreciated the opportunity to meet a real author. The highlight of the trip for Ms Woods, who accompanied the children, was to see Esha, Livvy and Kirstie exchanging book recommendations in the theatre while we waited for Michael to arrive – What more could we ask?
