Strandite Wins Maths Award

Congratulations to Lily F in 6N, who this week was awarded a certificate for her entry into the MEM challenge run by the University of Liverpool. The competition is aimed at pupils in years 7 and 8 and there were over 540 entries to the challenge section which contained a selection of 8 questions based around the theme of nature. Lily solved the problems with style, laying out her answers in a logical sequence that clearly explained her working - a true mathematician. It should be noted that Lily submitted her entry during lockdown, showing real commitment and independence - two key Strand Values. Lily has been invited to Liverpool University to receive her award - we are all very proud of her.
