Strand Reach Borough Football Finals Again

Congratulations to our Year 5/6 football team who have once again qualified for the borough finals for the 6th straight year. Wet and windy conditions did not make for pretty football but Strand adapted to their surroundings and did what they needed to in order to produce results. The matches were shorter than we were used to as well which meant that getting that first goal was incredibly important. Luckily we had Alex K in fine form to propel us forward, a variety of our squad players rotating roles in midfield and Ronnie marshalling the defence tightly at the back. Alex L and Anand had little to do in goal when it was their respective stint in between the posts. Beating Belmont, Grove Park, St Mary's (Chiswick) and William Hogarth meant automatic qualification. Winning all 4 games without conceding a goal was just reward for the hard working team who really support each other on and off the pitch. Good luck to the squad who travel to Osterley Goals for the finals next week.
