Strand Awarded AfPE Quality Mark with Distinction
We are proud and delighted to announce that Strand Juniors has been awarded the AfPE Quality Mark, with distinction! The AfPE Quality Mark is a prestigious award that evidences and recognises the strength and quality of Physical Education, School Sport & Physical Activity at Strand Juniors. Strand is now one of only six primary schools in London to achieve this and as a result we will be signposted to the Department of Education as a model of best practice. Particular points that were highlighted in the report were…
- The school’s passion for PESSPA and the contribution that makes to the whole child
- Huge support for SEND pupils and Swan centre
- Dynamic, evolving curriculum
- Commitment to swimming
A huge well done to Miss Smith Stevenson, Mr Ash, Mr Bentley and Mr Caton who worked so hard to make sure PE at Strand has something for everyone and we never stand still. Special mention to Miss Smith Stevenson who has worked tirelessly to gather the evidence, write the application and make sure the assessor saw the full range of our sports offer and was left in no doubt as to our commitment to and passion for PE as an essential part of education. The epitome of a #spiritedStrandite, Emily has made a huge impact on sport and we are all very proud of her and her team.
