Strand Achieves Gold School Games Mark

We are delighted to announce that we have achieved the School Games GOLD Mark Award for the 2022/23 academic year. The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched to reward and recognise school engagement in the School Games against a national benchmark and to celebrate keeping young people active, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success. Over the last year our aim has been to try and engage those who haven’t previously been active or represented our school. With over 70% of the school representing Strand in Inter-School competition at local and borough level we are well on our way to achieving that goal. A huge thank you to Ms Smith Stevenson, Mr Ash, Mr Bentley and Mr Caton, for raising the profile of physical wellbeing and sports at Strand and being fantastic role-models for our children.
