Sports Hall Success

On Tuesday Strand took a team of Year 5/6 athletes to Brentford Leisure Centre for the indoor sports day event. A thoroughly good time was had by all with Strand competing against 47 different schools from all over the borough. Put into a very strong group, including last year’s winners Victoria Primary, Strand got off to a great start by winning the basketball and hockey dribble races. 2nd places in the sprint relay and tennis ball carry followed and high finishes in the other 3 events saw Strand impressively progress to the Semi Finals. 8 group winners raced each other to be crowned champions with Strand finishing a creditable 6th out of 47 and 1St out of the Chiswick schools. Well done to the team who not only excelled in the field of competition but also cheered and clapped every other team taking part in the event. A credit to the school!
