Maths Wizards in Year 5

On Monday the Year 5 maths team of Ayali, Brodie, Frederick and Keya went off with Mrs Jones and Mr Bonner to Hampton School to take part in the Maths Wizard competition. Luckily the team had been prepping with Mrs Kitson and Mrs Mehmet practising some fiendishly hard problems before the competition. The standard was very high and competition was fierce with 23 schools all attempting to find solutions to the various challenges. The Strand team members acquitted themselves very well indeed and should be really proud of themselves. By their own assessment a couple of the questions went beyond even their prodigious mathematical talents and certainly left Mr Bonner scratching his head. It is always good to have something to aspire to. Well done!
