Hounslow as One Concert
On Monday evening, some of our talented musicians performed at the Royal Festival Hall on the South Bank at the Hounslow as One concert, a celebration of the superb work done in Hounslow by the Hounslow Music Service. The concert hall was packed with families and supporters who had come along to watch their children perform. Strandites past and present played in every number with our greatest representation in the Massed Brass Band where we had 12 children performing. The event was truly spectacular and was a brilliant celebration of the musical talent we have here at Strand. Strandites certainly did themselves proud with Noelle and Sophie playing violin in an especially commissioned piece by Deborah Pritchard, and Francis playing ‘Apache’ like a professional! The brass players, Alice, Beau, Betsy, Daniel, Eva, Felix, Felix W, Lara, Lily, Masoomeh, Maya and Shay were full of confidence and played their part in some very complex arrangements of ‘Men of Harlech’ and ‘Delilah’ in a reprise of their stunning performance from the Junior Brass Band Championships in Warwick last year. We are incredibly proud of everyone who played and want to extend a thank you to the talented staff from the Hounslow Music Service who have ignited a love of music in our children.
