Half Term Message
As we come to the end of what has been the most challenging of half terms I would like to thank the whole Strand community for all their hard work and commitment. The staff have been ready and willing to do anything I have asked of them and I’m immensely proud of each and every one of them; delivering workbooks, doing runs to the foodbank, calling families, monitoring the stream, searching for ways to help engage and excite the children, or going the extra mile for children who need extra support – their energy and enthusiasm has been boundless. Strand families have, as always, been supportive and thoughtful – your kind wishes, messages of appreciation to teachers on the stream, bunches of flowers and boxes of biscuits have been much appreciated. And last, but in no way least, the children have been truly amazing. The commitment and dedication they have shown to this new way of learning we have all been thrust into has been exceptional. As a member of every class I get to see every piece of work submitted and it has been brilliant to see all the work that has been handed in on Google Classroom – and the dedication of parents, some of whom have been submitting work at midnight when they have finished their own work! I am always proud of our school, but never more so than in these last few weeks. We are all looking forward to increasing the numbers of children in school in the coming weeks – it just doesn’t feel right without the corridors full of the sound of happy children.
