Farewell and Welcome
We say Bon Voyage to Jay Dienn on Tuesday as he embarks upon his round the world trip. Jay is starting his travels in Japan before heading on to Australia, New Zealand, Thailand and lots of other exotic locations! We wish Jay well and look forward to hearing about his travels and adventures via the Strand blog which he will be adding to from afar, thanks to the wonders of modern technology. Jay’s sabbatical will end early in the Summer Term and so he will be back in time to play in the Strand Band for the Year 6 show!
We are also saying a temporary goodbye to Deborah Pryce who is taking a sabbatical to spend more time with her family. We are hoping that Deborah will be able to take up the musical reins again next year. In the meantime we are lucky to have lots of musicians in the Strand Team who will, supported by our colleagues from the music service, keep the musical plates spinning.
As one door closes another opens … Leigh Bevan, ex Strandite, will be joining the Learning Support Team from Wednesday. Leigh plays djembe and drums and has run drumming workshops in her previous life. She also has sporting talents which will make her a great asset to the PE team – she enjoys ‘extreme’ sports and has run ski schools in the Alps!
