Farewell and Welcome Back
Farewell Mrs Fetta
Families in 4N will already know that Sarah Fetta is leaving us at Christmas. Sarah and her family have recently moved to Aylesbury so she has very sensibly got a job closer to home – the 4 hour daily commute was not tenable in the longer term. Sarah has been at Strand for over 10 years, since completing her final teaching practice with us – we saw her potential and snapped her up before she could be offered a job elsewhere! Sarah has worked in Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5 and is now completing the set with a role in Year 6 at her new school. After having her daughter, Lucia, Sarah has been the backbone of the support team, increasing her days and changing her role without complaint to help us provide continuity for your children. Sarah is much loved by colleagues and children alike for her calm, serene manner and unfailing good nature – her team (and the rest of the staff) all love her to bits and will be missing her come January 6th! Sarah will also miss us terribly – Strand is her second home but she is looking forward to taking daughter Lucia to school and spending more time with her real family. We know you will all join us in wishing her all the best in her new role and new home.
And Hello Mrs Mehmet
Isha Mehmet will be returning to work from her maternity leave on January 6th. As Andy Naslund is not yet back up to a full timetable Isha will be stepping into her old role of Year 4 Team Leader and sharing 4N with Andy. Isha has already been in to begin planning with the Year 4 team and will be spending more time with us next week. Isha and Andy are keen to get to know their families better and we will be planning a ‘Meet the Teacher’ event early in the new term. Isha is approaching her return to work with her trademark verve and enthusiasm and is really looking forward to getting to know Year 4 and 4N in particular.
