Cross Country Success

Strand took part in the borough cross country relays at Heathlands School on Tuesday. The team competed against schools from all over the borough and in total over 150 children raced over 300m, 600m and 1200m courses. In the team relays the boys finished a creditable 5th out of 20 for the 300m relay and 7th out of 20 for the 600m relay. The girls did even better with Chloe F, Georgia S and Jasmine B finishing a brilliant 3rd out of 20 in the 300m relay even though Chloe took a tumble in the first 10 metres of the race and was left with a lot of catching up to do! The 600m relay ended up with the girls finishing 7th. In the individual 1200m race Aidan finished an amazing 4th out of 80 runners, a feat replicated by Flo R who also finished in 4th place. Well done to Aidan, Ronan, Miles, Jake, Jude, Sasha in the boys team and Flo, Chloe, Anoushka, Georgia and Jasmine in the girls team.
