Boys win Football Tournament

Wednesday marked our first official sporting event of the year and Ms Stevenson and the Year 6 football team were very excited to get out and represent the school. The boys faced 7 teams from 6 other schools playing three qualifying matches to reach the quarter finals; Strand scored 3 goals while Jacob did an exceptional job of saving some tough shots resulting in a 3-2 win for Strand. The semi final was a tense 0-0 draw, meaning knock out penalties. The boys held their nerve and made it to the final; an evenly matched game against Southville that came down to penalties again! It took one amazing save from Jacob and a final goal from Callum to seal the win making Strand winners of the tournament! Huge well done to the whole team - Callum, Jacob, Herbie, Zack, Corentin, Jake and Luke.
