Big Pedal Update
The response to this year’s Big Pedal has been awesome with the bike and scooter racks overflowing from day 1. We are currently standing 4th in the National Event with a massive 8,429 points, just 13 points behind the 3rd place school and on track to better last year’s performance. Thank you to everyone who has made the effort to cycle or scoot this week – please keep it up as in this race persistence pays off with many of the early leaders dropping away in the second week of the challenge. However, more important than positions and numbers is the fact that so much of the school has become involved – on Wednesday a massive 48% of our school population scootered or cycled to school – a real achievement. Thank you very much to parents who are bearing with us over the inevitable parking issues that have arisen from having such a vast number of bikes and scooters in school. Thank you to the Marshalls who are providing a sterling ‘Valet Parking’ Service before and after school – lining up the scooters for easy collection. Keep pedalling and make sure you all get the bikes out on Wednesday 12th March for the Bike Breakfast when we are going for our stage win.
