Joining Strand

Children transfer on application from Strand on the Green Infant and Nursery School to the Juniors at the beginning of the school year in which they are 8. There is a meeting for Year 2 parents early in the Spring Term. Outside applications for a place in year 3 or any other of the year groups will be considered in relation to the London Borough of Hounslow's policy "Admission Arrangements for Primary Education" (available from the head teacher) and the number of places available. We are always happy to show new or prospective parents and children around the school. If you would like to visit then please call 0208 994 7847 for an appointment. When your child joins us at Strand, we will expect them to work and play hard and take part with enthusiasm in the life of the school and its community. We will expect them to co-operate with adults and with other children, show good manners, behave well and abide by our code of practice. We will expect them to listen, inquire, question, discuss, challenge and reflect. In this way, we hope they will learn tolerance and respect, and celebrate the differences that make each one of us unique. We will expect that they take care of their own belongings, the property of school mates and the school environment.

Moving On

Children move onto a range of schools at the end of their time at Strand. The majority of our children transfer to local schools including Chiswick Community School, Isleworth and Syon school for boys, The Green School for girls, Greycourt, Tiffin and Slough Grammar at the end of Year 6. Some of our families choose the Independent sector and find that Strand provides a sound grounding for these choices. This year children are transferring to Latymer, St Benedicts, Notting Hill, Arts Ed and Hampton. To see a full copy of the leavers list click here.
